One Billion Daimoku Campaign

SGI Canada is aiming toward the 80th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai in 2010 with a goal of chanting one billion daimoku. We intend to accomplish this goal by accumulating the daimoku chanted by all the members across the country through their districts. Each district will chart the members’ daimoku and, when the district has reach one million, will report to the chapter, who in turn will gather the completed one million reports from their districts and report to their area, and so on to the region and SGI Canada. If each of our 200 districts can accomplish five million daimoku, we can reach one billion.

A special daimoku chart in English, French and Chinese can be downloaded.
This campaign will be a powerful prayer and a unifying force to propel the kosen-rufu movement in Canada toward 2010 and beyond, to 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai. On May 15, 2010, we will hold the first nationwide youth culture festival in Toronto to mark this achievement and to launch the next wave of capable successors in the second act of kosen-rufu.
